Have you ever felt like you’re constantly trying to figure out your purpose in life?
Like there’s some perfect path out there, and if you could just find it, everything would finally fall into place?
That endless pursuit is exhausting.
I’ve been there.
Asking God over and over again…
What am I here to do?
What should I build next?
What direction should I take now?
But here’s what I’ve come to understand:
Purpose isn’t something you find. It’s something you live.
You don’t arrive at it by striving harder.
You align with it by being who God created you to be.
Unlearning the Hustle
For most of my life, I lived from my head.
Always thinking, planning, trying to do what I thought would make God and others proud.
Trying to build something that would look purposeful from the outside.
But deep underneath that drive was fear.
Fear of being unseen.
Fear of getting it wrong.
Fear of disappointing the people I loved and even God.
After years of building a business I truly loved, I was led to release it.
And when that happened, I felt completely unanchored.
I didn’t know who I was without it.
So I started scrambling to figure out what to do next.
But God didn’t give me another strategy right away.
He gave me a simple instruction.
Go. Do. Be.
That Changed Everything
What if, just this once, I stopped trying to do what made sense to others?
What if I stopped building things that looked important and just did what I loved?
What if I gave myself permission to enjoy the simple things that brought me peace?
Reading books that stirred my curiosity
Moving my body and nourishing it with food that gave me life
Creating messages that inspire others
Loving and raising my family well
Exploring things just because I wanted to
What if that was enough?
What if being me was the very thing I had been looking for all along?
God Designed You on Purpose for Purpose
You were created in a specific way for a reason.
Your voice. Your wiring. Your passions. Your quirks.
It’s not random. It’s intentional.
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
Psalm 139:13–14
We spend so much time chasing something outside of ourselves that we forget God already placed what we need on the inside.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Ephesians 2:10
You can’t outrun His plan.
The greatest way to align with it is to stop performing and start living as the person He designed from the beginning.
Return to What’s True
Stop chasing what was never meant to be hunted down.
Start being who you already are.
Because this is what silences the never-ending pursuit of finding your true purpose in life.
And calms the anxiety around finding your perfect path in life.
When you stop chasing and start being, you realize something sacred.
You were never behind. You were just being redirected back to yourself.
And that is where God meets you.
That is where purpose lives.
If my words have ever uplifted or inspired you, consider buying me a coffee and supporting the mission. Every coffee helps me keep showing up and sharing light.
Thank you for being here.
Thank you Dallas for your obedience. This was a on-time post and a friendly reminder that, “I am enough! Just as I am.” May God continue to bless you ♥️
As a former overachiever this post resonated with me deeply.
Wow!! Dallas. Your words are confirmation for me. It has been such a rough season, turbulent winds, valley, glimmers of the mountaintop…. He brought me back to the word He gave me two years ago… “You, follow Me.” It doesn't matter if people don't understand me, He gets me. He loves me. Jesus is enough🙌🏾♥️
