When Purpose Feels Hidden
What to do when you don’t know what you’re meant to do
You want to walk in your purpose.
You want your life to feel meaningful, aligned, intentional.
But what do you do when you don’t know what that purpose is?
What do you do when you’re searching… praying… trying to figure it out…
and nothing feels clear?
It can feel frustrating.
Even unsettling.
Like everyone else has direction… and you’re still trying to find yours.
But let me offer you a different way to see this.
You are not lost. You are not behind.
You are here on purpose.
Even in the moments where you don’t feel guided to do any one specific thing.
Even when there’s no clear answer or next step.
You are here.
You are breathing.
You are experiencing life.
And that alone holds purpose.
Sometimes, purpose isn’t about doing more.
It’s about being present in where you already are.
Start With a Simple Ask
If you don’t know what you’re meant to do, ask.
Ask God.
Not in a rushed way.
Not in a demanding way.
But in a way that’s open… willing… and ready to receive.
Then be still.
Pay attention.
The answer doesn’t always come all at once.
Sometimes it comes in pieces.
In nudges.
In moments that gently pull you in a certain direction.
Your role is not to force clarity.
Your role is to stay aware of what’s being revealed.
Follow What Comes Naturally
There are things you do with ease.
Ways you show up without overthinking.
Pay attention to that.
How do you naturally pour into others?
How do you make things better, even in small ways?
A kind word.
A smile.
Encouragement.
Giving when you can.
None of it is small.
Every action, no matter how simple, is a reflection of purpose in motion.
Purpose is not always loud.
Sometimes it’s lived quietly… consistently… faithfully.
Joy Leaves Clues
What brings you joy?
Not what looks good.
Not what sounds impressive.
But what genuinely lights something up inside of you.
Often, it’s something that’s been with you for a long time.
Something you did as a child.
Something that felt natural before you started overthinking it.
Those things matter.
They are not random.
They are clues.
Purpose Grows as You Do
What you’re meant to do will not always look the same.
It will shift.
It will stretch.
It will evolve as you do.
And that’s not confusion.
That’s growth.
So give yourself space.
Let God move in and through your life without trying to control every outcome.
Be willing.
Say yes.
Show up with faith.
Show up with confidence.
Even when you don’t have all the answers.
Because you don’t need to have everything figured out to be walking in purpose.
You just need to be willing to move with God as you’re led.
You are not trying to find purpose.
You are learning to walk in it, one step at a time.
And right now… in this moment…
You are exactly where you’re meant to be.

Psalm 46:10 has hit home for me; Be still, and know I am God
This definitely brings some clarity around the "finding your purpose" discussion, because you're helping people actually identify what purpose is. More often than not, at least in my convos with folks, when someone is trying to "find their purpose", instead they're really asking, "how do I capitalize off of something I'm really good at." I think we all do it at some point. In other words, if I'm not monetarily benefiting from this gift that I have, am I fully walking in my purpose? This article brings clarity to how we're to even define that question. Thanks!
